Frequently Asked Questions

Who teaches your courses?

We have a number of specialists who teach. Some are Microsoft certified master instructors, some are professional office managers, some are masters in organizational leadership/administration and Human sciences, some are simply specialists in their field who are also good teachers. Our goal is to make sure the instructor you have for your course can provide you not only with information about the software or hardware in use, but also the practical aspects of actually using it in real-life work situations.

Do you offer certification programs?

No. Comp U Learn maintains focus on practical day-to-day use of technology. Our courses are for those who are looking for work or working in a variety of environments but who want to more effectively use the technology tools in their daily work. However, some of the workshops offered by Comp U Learn use vendor approved, certification level courseware, meeting the needs of those who want more extensive coverage of specific software.

What do you mean by small class sizes?

We limit our classroom registrations to a maximum of eight students. This ensures learners have ample access to help from our instructors during their course and provides a high quality learning environment. Courses booked outside of the Comp U Learn classrooms may have a higher number of students, but we also may send additional instructors to maintain an effective student-to-instructor ratio for learning.

Where do you offer the courses?

Yes. Comp U Learn travels throughout Rural Lethbridge west, Crowsnest Pass, Pincher Creek, Fort Macleod, Cardston, Claresholm, Vulcan, Nanton, Alberta. Visit our Calendar Information page for additional details or contact our office directly.

Do you have special rates for group training?

Yes. We offer exceptional value for group training and professional development days. Contact our office directly.

Do you offer additional support when we take one of your courses?

Yes. All of our courses come with one month of free email support covering the content taken during the course. Some of our courses also include access to online data files for you to review course content.

Can I get a tutor instead of taking a course?

Yes. Our instructors are available for individualized tutoring on a wide variety of computer topics for PC systems.

How much does it cost to give a course at our location?

The price will vary depending on the course you have selected, how many participants you expect to have, what course materials you require, and where you are located. Please contact our office as we are happy to provide you with a no obligation quote.

What kind of computers are in your training centre?

At this time we have Intel systems with 15.4" LCD monitors running Windows Vista. Our labs are using laptops systems. All our computers are equipped with CD/DVD burners and front USB ports for your memory sticks in case you wish to take your student work home after class. We upgrade our systems approximately every two years to ensure you will always be using a current computer. For some of the training you can also arrange to bring your laptop to your course instead, but you must make arrangements prior to the course to ensure you have any necessary student files.

Do you have courses for Macintosh computers?

No. Not at this time.
